Head of People & Culture Operations / Transformation

  • Full-time
  • Department: People & Culture

Company Description

Enero is a collective of boutique marketing communications agencies operating across three service pillars: creative and content, integrated communications and PR, and digital, data, analytics and technology. With major hubs in Sydney, London, New York, and San Francisco, we operate across 13 countries and count some of the world's most ambitious brands among our clients.

Our environment is fast-paced, dynamic, and genuinely fun, but our standards are anything but relaxed. Industry awards line our walls, and our people are the reason why.

Job Description

We are seeking a high-calibre second-in-command to our Chief People Officer to play a pivotal leadership role across both People & Culture operations and enterprise-wide transformation. This is a unique opportunity for a commercially minded leader who is equally comfortable managing day-to-day delivery while driving strategic change.

Our People & Culture function is currently undergoing significant evolution, transitioning from a reactive and fragmented model shaped by acquisitions to one that is strategic, streamlined, technology-enabled, and globally consistent. We require an experienced leader to help accelerate this journey.

Operational Leadership
You will lead a high-performing Australian People & Culture team, ensuring the successful execution of the annual people plan and delivery of core operational priorities. You will provide strong leadership, foster capability, and ensure high standards of service and compliance across the function.

Transformation & Technology Leadership
Acting as the People & Culture subject matter expert for technology and AI, you will help shape and deliver the global HR technology roadmap. This includes driving process simplification, identifying automation opportunities, and leading a phased transformation agenda across the global P&C function in partnership with a dedicated P&C Technology Program Lead.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Own outcomes and deliver with accountability
Take full ownership of priorities from initiation through to completion. Ensure commitments are met, follow through on actions, proactively resolve issues, and maintain momentum without the need for close supervision.
  • Apply a systems-thinking approach
Assess challenges holistically by understanding how people, processes, and systems interact. Identify dependencies, diagnose root causes, and implement sustainable solutions that improve end-to-end effectiveness.
  • Drive AI and innovation opportunities
Actively explore emerging technologies, particularly AI, to identify practical opportunities that increase efficiency, reduce administrative burden, and enhance the strategic impact of the People & Culture function.
  • Lead technology and process improvement initiatives
Confidently evaluate systems, workflows, and operating models to identify improvement opportunities. Manage projects effectively by setting priorities, sequencing workstreams, mitigating risks, and ensuring successful delivery.
  • Operate with agility and hands-on leadership
Demonstrate flexibility to work strategically and operationally as required. Contribute at all levels, from detailed execution through to preparing high-quality materials for executive and Board-level audiences.
  • Create measurable business value
Partner closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver fit-for-purpose people solutions. Focus on outcomes that improve capability, efficiency, employee experience, and overall organisational performance.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in HR, Business, or a related field
  • 10+ years' experience spanning P&C operations, IR/ER, compliance, and HRIS, ideally in a multi-entity or group environment
  • Proven people leader with the ability to coach, develop, and inspire a team
  • Deep working knowledge of Australian employment law, Modern Awards, and the NES
  • Experience with HRIS platforms Sage People experience is a strong plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholders
  • Strong communicator who builds trusted relationships at all levels from team members to the executive
  • Proven track record of driving process improvement and technology adoption in a P&C function
  • Experience in leadership development and talent programs (advantageous)

This role offers a genuine seat at the table as a key member of the P&C leadership team with real influence. You’ll join a diverse, global group with a vibrant Sydney home base and be part of a culture that’s fast-moving and ambitious, yet casual, collaborative, and people-first.
