Work with project teams to create effective marketing strategies/plans and lead marketing campaigns and teams for ECP projects that include corporates, strategic comms, media, conferences, and events to meet strategic and commercial objectives.
Job Description
- Develop cohesive and integrated marketing strategies and plans for respective projects across relevant channels (email marketing, social media, digital marketing, etc).
- Conduct deep-dive market research to thoroughly understand target audiences / segments, market trends and competitive landscape.
- Develop messaging for target audiences / key segments for various projects
- Develop and implement email communications plan for events and projects (HTML & Text); implement A/B testing, measure effectiveness and adapt according to insights.
- Develop and implement social media content plan across products and channels aligned with Marketing, Content and Programming strategies and plans.
- Maintain websites, apply SEO knowledge, and recommend ways to enhance user journey.
- Brief database build activities aligned with data strategy and ensure data governance and data management policies are adhered to.
- Negotiate barter agreements with relevant Trade Association and Media Partners and co-ordinate fulfilment and tracking of agreements.
- Implement speaker, advisory board and ambassador marketing promotional campaigns, packs and follow-up.
- Copywrite and brief marketing material in line with marketing campaign plans and messaging.
- Utilize and manage digital tools (i.e. mobile app, survey tool, GA4, Hubspot, Everlytic, GleanIn) to enhance campaigns.
- Brief and liaise with external suppliers (incl. PR companies, designers, online providers, digital agencies, data houses, registration companies, printers, photographers, videographers, mailing houses, etc).
- Implement research projects to review customer satisfaction and identify portfolio developments.
- Provide onsite support to ensure the smooth running of marketing related activity (i.e. registration, press office, research, placement of branding and materials; sales stand).
- Monitor campaign performance, produce relevant and timely reports, and if necessary, adjust plans, based on data insights.
- Analyze and provide KPI reports and updates as required.
- Work with marketing team to ensure successful delivery of marketing campaigns to agreed KPI’s, project strategies.
- Collaborate, engage and work across functions within ECP and project partners / stakeholders.
- Manage, mentor and coach marketing co-ordinators/executives (where applicable, dependent on project)
Qualifications
- French (Required)
- Tertiary qualification (Media, Marketing related).
- SA residence / visa and ability to work. We will not be able to relocate anyone.
- 3+ years in a marketing lead/manager role ideally within business events.
- Strong project management skills
- Experience in the use of databases in both mass and targeted direct marketing campaigns
- Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with and relate to all levels both within and outside the organization.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship building skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Copy writing.
- HTML Proficient.
