Venue Manager - Surfers Paradise Beergarden
- Full-time
Job Description
VENUE MANAGER | SURFERS PARADISE BEERGARDEN
This Isn't Just a Job, It’s a Lifestyle!
Are you an energetic, visionary venue leader who thrives on great entertainment, high-volume trade, and authentic pub culture? Positioned in the absolute heart of Surfers Paradise, this legendary Gold Coast landmark has stood as a bastion of Queensland pub culture for decades. Famous for its sprawling open-air balcony, rich live music heritage, active sports bar trade, and weekend energy, it remains a go-to hub for locals and visitors alike.
This role is made for a true hospitality personality, someone who loves the buzz of booking live bands and DJs, thrives on high-energy bar and food trade, and has the vision to steer a legendary space into a broader, family-friendly pub culture. With a major multi-million-dollar renovation booked for early 2027, we are set to elevate this icon to even greater heights
A day in the life of a Venue Manager:
- You bring the vibe, the music, and the atmosphere, while leading high-energy shifts from opens to late closes.
- You know the regulars by name and welcome tourists like locals, all while keeping a sharp eye on high-volume F&B trade and the P&L.
- You put out fires before anyone notices there was smoke, keeping peak weekend rushes and major events running seamless and safe.
- You're the pillar of the community and the driving force behind the venue's massive early 2027 transformation into a modern family pub.
- You run the place like it’s your own home, setting the benchmark for service, team culture, and strict QLD compliance every shift, every day.
About you:
- Proven experience as a Venue Manager or General Manager in a high-volume hotel, pub, or multi-faceted entertainment venue.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, with the commercial smarts to tailor and evolve a food offering to meet changing market demands.
- Passion for events and live music, direct experience booking bands, DJs, and functions will give you a major head start!
- Transformation mindset with the drive, creativity, and leadership stamina to reposition a famous venue for a broader demographic.
- Sharp commercial smarts across high-volume food and bar operations, wages, yield, and financial reporting.
- An infectious hospitality spirit who thrives on the floor, connects effortlessly with people, and sees venue leadership as a lifestyle.
- Hold current industry RSA/RSG, RMLV, Approved Manager's Licence, and Gaming Nominee Licence as per state requirements.
Inherent requirements:
This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.
The benefits are good too!
