Job Description
- Lead the operational delivery of SOX and internal controls activities across multiple business/finance processes and teams
- Manage a team of SOX specialists and analysists responsible for testing and delivery of the SOX programme
- Own the end-to-end delivery of SOX testing and remediation activities within agreed timelines and quality standards
- Oversee annual SOX planning, resourcing and prioritisation activities
- Ensure compliance with SOX requirements, regulatory standards and internal policies
- Partner with Finance, Risk and business leaders to align SOX activities with business priorities
- Lead engagement and act as the key point of contact with external auditors on a day to day basis
- Drive continuous improvement of SOX methodologies, documentation standards, processes and tooling
- Provide expert advice and guidance on SOX, internal controls and compliance matters
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in SOX, internal audit, financial controls or a related area
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field
- Professional certification in Finance, Accounting, Audit or a related area is a plus
- In-depth knowledge of SOX, Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) and financial reporting risks
- Strong understanding of internal control frameworks, audit requirements and compliance standards
- Proven experience coordinating SOX testing, remediation and annual planning activities
- Experience working closely with external auditors
- Ability to identify control deficiencies, assess risks and recommend effective remediation and process improvement
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance and with external auditors
- Well-developed people leadership, coaching and team development skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex audit and regulatory requirements into clear business actions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset
