Job Description
We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our finance team in Bengaluru, India. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization's financial health. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver timely and transparent financial reporting while driving continuous improvement in our accounting processes.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly
- Collect, organize, and maintain financial documentation and supporting records to meet compliance and audit standards
- Prepare and submit periodic tax filings and reports in accordance with Indian accounting regulations, including GST and income tax requirements
- Post journal entries and coordinate tax-related adjustments where required
- Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reported
- Identify accounting risks and propose practical process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing audit-ready documentation and supporting audit inquiries
- Collaborate with the finance team to strengthen internal controls over financial transactions and documentation
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement
- Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures in line with organizational requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles with solid knowledge of Indian accounting standards and regulations
- Proficiency with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (such as Tally, SAP, or similar platforms)
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify discrepancies and propose solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all financial work
- Solid understanding of month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Knowledge of GST, income tax compliance, and Indian financial reporting standards
- Experience working in a multinational or large corporate environment (preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Trustworthy, honest, responsible, and ethical approach to financial management
- Quick learner with a willingness to adapt to new systems and processes
