Job Description
Applications management involves overseeing the lifecycle of software applications, including deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization to ensure they meet business requirements and deliver value effectively.
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Consultant to play a critical role in maintaining secure configurations for a portfolio of software applications and ensuring seamless continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes. You’ll guide clients through their journey to modern, resilient, and automated technology delivery. This role blends hands-on engineering with consultative advisory, ensuring organizations adopt best practices in cloud, automation, and CI/CD pipelines to accelerate value delivery.
As a Senior DevOps Consultant, you will collaborate with diverse teams, designing solutions that are cloud-agnostic where possible and tailored to client needs. Beyond building, you’ll coach, mentor, and influence teams to embed DevOps principles, drive cultural change, and enable long-term success.
Responsibilities
- Partner with clients to understand business drivers and translate them into modern DevOps solutions.
- Design and implement infrastructure and deployment pipelines across different environments and cloud providers.
- Shape and evolve CI/CD strategies using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
- Operate and optimize containerized applications using Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
- Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform, Bicep, Pulumi, or similar.
- Advocate Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, improving availability, scalability, and performance.
- Drive automation in build, release, monitoring, and security pipelines.
- Lead workshops and advisory sessions to foster DevOps culture and adoption.
- Document and communicate processes for knowledge sharing, compliance, and governance.
- Mentor junior engineers and guide cross-functional teams toward DevOps maturity.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform reliability roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in CI/CD practices across at least one major toolchain (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.).
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP); multi-cloud experience a plus.
- Strong grasp of Agile, DevOps, and SRE practices.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure automation.
- Skilled in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, etc.).
- Scripting and automation experience (Bash, PowerShell, or Python).
- Good stakeholder engagement and consultancy skills, able to influence, present, and advise senior audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring ability.
Valuable but not mandatory:
- Certifications across cloud platforms or DevOps tooling.
- Familiarity with security scanning, observability platforms, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience guiding organizations through DevOps/SRE maturity transformations.
- Familiarity with APM tools such as Dynatrace and AppInsights
- Understanding of OWASP SAMM (Software Assurance Maturity Model)
- Experience with code and binary vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Snyk, SonarCloud, Azure Defender, NeuVector)
