Job Description
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated and detail-oriented Junior Legal Counsel with at least one (1) year work experience to join our dynamic global legal team. Reporting to Legal Counsel DACH based in Cluj-Napoca, the successful candidate will play a critical role in contract lifecycle management, reviewing short-form agreements, and handling legal administrative tasks. This position also presents a unique opportunity to develop competencies in legal technology and participate in the evolution of legal operations in an AI-enhanced environment. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Law with 1 year work experience at a law firm or corporate in-house legal environment. C1 or greater German and English proficiency is mandatory, as the role involves frequent interaction with international teams and stakeholders. This position is hybrid (in-person/remote), with an in-office requirement of 40% of the month. Ideally, the role would be based in Cluj-Napoca, but Bucharest, Timișoara, or Iași are also possible.
MAIN DUTIES
- Review, draft, and coordinate agreements such as NDAs, service contracts, contract amendments, Statements of Work, order forms, Supplier contracts, DPAs and other legal and commercial documents in German and English;
- Support in contract management, contract review automation and Legal AI projects;
- Perform legal administrative functions, including organizing documentation, managing signatures, and maintaining internal legal trackers;
- Engage with internal stakeholders across multiple functions (e.g. Sales, Procurement, Finance, Compliance, Security) to ensure alignment with business objectives and mitigate business risks;
- Undertake legal research and know-how;
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Law degree from a recognized institution.
- Experience: at least one (1) year of work experience, preferably at a law firm or corporate in-house legal environment.
- Language Proficiency: C1 or greater German and English proficiency (written and spoken).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with contract management software is a plus.
Key Competencies:
- 1 year previous experience in the legal sector (at corporate or in law office) related to contracts or contract management;
- Previous experience in dealing with commercial contracts and GDPR matters;
- Previous experience of CLM tool/contract database;
- Previous experience working in an international environment;
- Ability to assess commercial risks;
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural, cross-functional environment;
- Ability to pick things up quickly including a willingness to broaden experience and knowledge;
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience dealing with senior stakeholders;
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, the ability to work with others;
- Strong ethics, integrity, and values including ability to maintain confidentiality with respect to agreement contents and other highly sensitive business matters and projects required;
- Excellent time management skills and ability to managing multiple tasks and work under pressure with strict deadlines effectively in a fast-changing business environment.
