• The coder is responsible for reviewing all patient files for accuracy. 
• Information entered into the database must be done so in compliance with the policies and procedures of the medical facility.
• The information will indicate all relevant data such as the reason that the patient was admitted, type of illness and breakdown of the treatment that was prescribed and received.
• Must remain current and  knowledgeable of ICD-9-CM and CPT coding techniques, concurrent review, medical terminology and abbreviations, medical record content, and legal aspects of patient medical records.

• Associate's Degree
• 2+ years coding exp
• AHIMA or AAPC certified
• Certified Coding Specialist
• Hospital exp, acute care
