JOB DESCRIPTION
This role will provide direct EHS support and leadership for EnPower Inc., located in the northeast corner of Indianapolis, IN.. This person should thrive in a changing and dynamic environment and possess the ability to direct, plan, establish, and implement a variety of programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees, plant facilities, and equipment. As the EHS Manager, they must ensure safe work conditions and practices exist that meet all applicable EH&S regulations and company policies. This position will coach site management and personnel on the recognition, elimination and control of occupational hazards and environmental risks. This position will also ensure all federal, state and local regulations and permits are met and obtained. The position requires an experienced professional with excellent communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Analyzes and evaluates current EH&S programs, policies, and practices to ensure they meet all current and proposed local, state, and national regulatory requirements.
- Designs, implements, and maintains EH&S programs and policies to minimize and eliminate safety risks and occupational hazards associated with work practices.
- Establishes EH&S monitoring programs to ensure all activities meet established requirements. Establishes methods for maintaining site records for occupational and environmental health and safety including documentation on training and certifications.
- Performs periodic safety inspections and compliance audits.
- Establishes standards and methods of measuring environmental, health, and safety performance.
- Coordinates and/or administers EH&S related training activities to ensure that all employees are aware of their EH&S responsibilities and can operate in a safe and legal manner.
- Maintains/Improves current accident and incident reporting system for all employees.
- Investigates accidents and incidents to determine the cause and recommends changes to work practices or equipment to minimize or eliminate future safety risks.
- Investigates the adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting and other conditions affecting the health, comfort, efficiency of employees.
- Conducts evaluations of exposure to noise, particles, gases, fumes etc. and recommends measures to ensure maximum employee protection.
- Prepares safety and compliance reports as required by management and outside regulatory agencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position and the EH&S Culture.
- Ensures all sites under your direction are compliant with applicable governmental regulations.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an EH&S related Science or Engineering field.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with an emphasis in EH&S program management. Experience within a plant that handles Combustible Dust a plus.
- Must be educated and skilled in conducting root cause analysis and applying process hazards analysis to an operation.
- Successful candidate will be well versed in sustainability.
- Demonstrated team building skills and the ability to manage multiple projects/programs simultaneously.
- Positive and motivated self-starter with successful track record in changing environment; excellent organizational, teamwork and prioritization skills are essential.
- Ability to communicate with clarity, impact and passion to help drive a growing EH&S program, and to collaborate across all levels of the organization to enable and drive change.
- Excellent written, verbal, listening and presentation skills.
- Must be hands-on and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
- Professional certification as a CSP, CIH or PE is preferred for this role or working towards obtaining certifications.
