Job Description

The Director, Technical Marketing manages the market research, go-to-market strategies, and strategic communications of EnPower. You will be responsible for identifying applications and markets for EnPower’s products, defining product requirements, orchestrating the resultant product launch, and promoting EnPower’s products. You will interface closely with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to develop and define clear product features, benefits, and differentiators from competitors’ offerings, and convert those messages into strategic communication materials. You will manage the Technical Marketing and Communications teams and ensure alignment in brand positioning, product strategy, and customer and investor relations.

The ideal candidate will have an engineering degree to communicate detailed technical aspects of our products, have strong written and oral communication skills, and be able to analyze market information and develop actionable business plans for EnPower.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track industry trends in the battery market, especially related to electric vehicles and U.S. battery manufacturing.
  • Identify and communicate the key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to our ability to competitively sell our products.
  • Create business cases for new products, with an emphasis on market analysis, forecasting, financial analysis and technical requirements
  • Define go-to-market strategy, product positioning, key benefits, and target customers for EnPower’s products.
  • Translate technical product features / details into benefits that appeal to multiple customer audiences.
  • Manage multi-channel campaigns that integrate product marketing, digital marketing, and public relations.
  • Develop and manage EnPower’s strategic communications and brand assets to increase brand awareness, generate leads, attract world-class talent, and position EnPower as a leader in the U.S. battery industry.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering or similar technical degree from a four-year college or university and at least two (4) years related technical marketing experience.
  • Outstanding records of academic or professional achievement
  • Marketing experience and presentation development experience required, either formally or through prior job experience. Candidates will be requested to share non-confidential examples of previous work products.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiarity with Li-ion batteries; Understand the competitive landscape is a plus
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in both teams and independently, and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Natural networker; able to build beneficial relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments.
  • Superior English reading and writing skills.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint software. Graphic design software experience is preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of internet, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
