Job Description

Ready to develop your architectural education by being an integral part of a start-up, fast growing architecture firm?

 

Emsick Architects is the ideal place to apply your architecture studies in a real world setting, while still in school.  Starting his own practice two years ago, Michael Emsick, AIA and NCARB certified, is a creative, commercial architect.  Under the guidance of Michael, this internship is a unique opportunity to gain valuable, professional experience.

 

We are seeking an individual with drafting talents, a team orientation, and the commitment to meet deadlines and accomplish goals. The ideal candidate will have excellent design competence coupled with exceptional project and time management skills as well as a desire to work independently within a small team. Candidate will start in the summer with 40-hour workweeks with the possibility of working 10 hours/week (flexible) during the school year. (This internship is part of the InternNE program. Only full-time students will be considered. InternNE required 200 hours of work in the first 12 weeks.)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in developing architectural, construction, and specification drawings with AutoCad and Revit
  • Drafting as-built drawings for renovation projects
  • Communication between project team members (verbal, electronic)
  • Assist in different phases of project development from project conception to completion

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Highly adept with AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suites, and Microsoft Office
  • Rendering and modeling skills
  • Team player, demonstrating commitment to organization’s values of integrity
  • Smart, quick, curious thinker and learner
  • Self-Starter. Keen sense of self-responsibility and pride in your work
  • Organized with a strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Extremely comfortable with technology
  • Committed to their own professional development
  • Articulate. Demonstrate professional speaking and writing skills.
  • Friendly, enjoys telephone contact.
  • Graduate student preferred.

Additional Information

COMPENSATION:


$13.50-15.50 per hour for summer internship.  Potential for full-time position after the summer internship for graduates, or continued part time work during school year for students.
