FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT (Public Accounting)

Responsibilities include Financial Accounting, Managing Balance Sheet, P&L, and Accounting Analytics

Job Title : Financial Accountant

Location : Hawthorne, NY

Contract or Full time : Full time position

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Manage all monthly closing functions in accordance with company timeline

·         Manage G/L Accounting

·         Responsible for the monthly and yearly closings of G/L

·         Review monthly close work, support to ensure accuracy of the close process

·         Responsible for coordinating quarterly auditor reviews and year-end audit processes

·         Interface with all Finance and Operations areas to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data flow

·         Prepare monthly management reports, prepare ad hoc analysis as needed

·         Preparation and review of all analytical submissions for Management

·         Maintain a solid understanding of ERP system as it relates to G/L & A/P

·         Assist in the overall implementation of SAP

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Assist with preparation of various monthly reports and analysis

·         Take the lead on various special projects as they arise.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS/ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE TO DO THE JOB:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA preferred

·         Two to four years accounting experience, two + years public accounting experience preferred

·         Working knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley required

·         Thorough understanding of all phases of Accounting

·         Good computer skills using MS Office, particularly Excel including pivot table and v-lookups

·         Solid analytical and research skills

·         Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

·         High level of technical, analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to proactively resolve issues

·         Must use sound judgement and be self-motivated with the ability to work independently

·         Able to handle multiple priorities and set and meet deadlines.

2-3 years of Public Accounting.
