Job Description
Come work for a rapidly growing company as an Information Technology (IT) Intern where you will work side-by-side with IT Leadership, benefit from hands-on training, and experience a fun company culture that promotes a vibrant and collaborative work environment.
The IT internship offers practical work experience and an introduction to Windows and Mac desktop support. It will involve challenging opportunities, real technical projects, and interaction with staff. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the computer field and to learn about the technical operations of a mid-sized company.
We are looking for someone with strong computer skills, a strong interest, and a passion for learning. Familiarity with Apple Macs and Windows machines is preferred, but not necessary. You must also be able to work independently as needed. This position is in the office full-time in Reno, NV.
Qualifications
Challenge Yourself - The Specifics:
- Support the IT team in maintaining hardware, software, and other systems
- Help with upgrading network equipment
- Assist in organizing and maintaining IT resources
- Assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support
- Lend IT support in areas such as cybersecurity, programming, and analytics
The Ideal Candidate:
- Enrollment as a junior or senior in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Networking, or similar area of study at an accredited college or university
- Ability to respond to and effectively prioritize multiple tasks
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines
- Operate modern office equipment, including computer equipment and specialized software application programs
- Use English effectively to communicate in person, over the telephone, and in writing
- Use tact, initiative, prudence, and independent judgment within general policy, procedural, and legal guidelines
- Ability to establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Ability to maintain a high level of integrity, diplomacy, and confidentiality
