Job Description

This customer/community outreach professional will engage with the geospatial & GIS communities and train our existing team to do the same, by facilitating networking and uncovering specific and mission-focused use cases of remote sensing data. By providing Element 84 greater visibility into how remote sensing data can be used to affect a variety of problems and industries, this person will help expand our customer base as well as our impact on the world. 

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape Element 84 business offerings including software consulting services, bootstrapped software packages and data services. 

  • Engage with user communities to serve as an internal subject matter expert on applications of remote sensing and aerial data.  Understanding of the open data sets offered by the US government and other sources is required. 

  • Work cross-functionally within the company to assist in planning marketing materials, for social media and website publication by shaping messaging to reach the right communities.

  • Assist in writing proposals for various opportunities with both government and commercial customers. 

  • Engage with clients and users while they are working with Element 84 to foster relationships and assist in finding organic growth opportunities. 

  • Act as a member of the senior leadership team to develop Element 84's strategy in the marketplace and lead implementation with community groups.

  • Attend conferences to learn industry trends and open business needs. 

  • Be well versed in Element 84's capabilities and how they could be brought to bear on problems in various applications to include industry, government, and academic areas.

  • Create and manage a budget associated with outreach activities, including time management for company members involved.

Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of experience in the geospatial/remote sensing industry in a sales, outreach, community building or business development capacity.

  • Experience with proposal writing.

  • Excellent communication skills, including speaking engagements.

  • Ability to travel (following lifting of COVID-19 related restrictions).

  • Work must be performed in the Continental United States and based within commuting distance of a large hub international Airport.

  • Ability to pass government background screening if required.

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in Earth Science, Remote Sensing or related field is preferred.
