As a member of Elbit America’s Trade Compliance Team, the Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for providing substantive export compliance expertise, guidance and support to the company. This role’s primary duty is to ensure that the company’s business activities are carried out in accordance with applicable U.S. and international trade compliance-related laws and regulations with a focus on leading the function’s move toward greater automation.

Job Description

  • Serve as primary Trade Compliance representative for the newly formed Integrated Solutions Division of Elbit America
  • This position plays a key role in Elbit America's overall Trade Compliance strategy, offering opportunities for growth and development into future leadership roles. While this position does not have direct reports, it does lead a cross-functional Trade Compliance team that includes Licensing, TAAs, Import Operations and Export Operations personnel supporting the Integrated Solutions Division
  • Serve as an Empowered Official as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • Act as Technology Control Officer (TCO) as defined by the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and the ESA Special Security Agreement (SSA)
  • Provide subject matter expertise in various relevant trade compliance laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), ITAR, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Regulations, ATF Regulations
  • Increase the effectivity of internal investigations and audits
  • Participate in policy and process creation and development
  • Work with other compliance personnel to evaluate, streamline and document appropriate procedures and policies to facilitate expedited processing of exports, imports, and licensing
  • Determine USML, ECCN, and Schedule B classifications for products as needed
  • Collaborate with our affiliate companies, suppliers, and customers on trade compliance-related matters
  • Provide advice and guidance on deemed exports for foreign visitors and employees
  • Conduct new hire briefings and other training activities
  • Review requests for site visits and file sharing access
  • Other trade compliance-related duties, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
  • 5-8 years’ experience in export compliance
  • Aerospace and Defense manufacturing experience
  • Secret-level security clearance required

Required:

  • Solid understanding of supply chain and logistics processes
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal follow-up and guidance.
  • Can multi-task yet remain attentive to details.
  • Capable of critical analysis for troubleshooting and resolving organizational and regulatory problems
  • Competent to analyze and interpret export/import laws, regulations, and industry best practices
  • Possess excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to travel as required

Desirable:

  • Experience with OCR software and Infor LN preferred
