We have contract designed a broad range of medical devices and instruments ranging from clinical chemistry and immunoassay instruments to minimally invasive biopsy systems and PCR diagnostic analyzers. We currently are seeking Software Quality Assurance Engineering Co-Ops to join our rapidly growing team.

Job Description

Calibrate inspect, measurement, and test equipment in the electrical, dimensional, optical, physical, mechanical, environmental, and/or electronic disciplines to ensure measurement accuracy.  Follow testing and calibration procedures for instruments and equipment, using blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and other specifications as requirements.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.  Utilizes equipment, standards, and procedures to accomplish specific operational verifications.

2.  Maintains calibration standards appropriate for IM&TE verification.

3.  Maintains a source of data from calibration results to assure a proper audit trail is available to ESA customers.

4.  Initiates corrective actions to address identified measurement anomalies.

5.  Assists others with equipment installation, use, maintenance, and repair.

6.  Using mathematical formulae, analyzes and converts test data and reports results and any proposed modifications.

7.  Disassembles and reassembles instruments and equipment as required in order to inspect instruments and equipment for defects.

8.  Communicates regularly with equipment users to apprise them of the calibration status of their measuring and test equipment, including reports delineating which items are about to expire calibration, are overdue or non-located items.

9.  Writes new or modifies existing laboratory procedures, calculates required tolerances of accuracy and specifies data required to show compliance to required accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Requires the ability to comprehend specifications, schematics, wiring diagrams, mil-specs, and purchase orders and to apply a level of knowledge necessary to test and inspect normally acquired through post high school technical education. 
  • Requires at least 1 years’ experience working in regulated environment for manufacturing medical devices
  • Familiarity with precision mechanical inspection, tool and gauge inspection, electronics, quality systems.
  • Requires a working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent type software. 
  • Requires good communication and customer service skills. 
  • Candidate should have a desire to update their technical skills to stay current with an ever-changing technology. 
  • This position requires frequent physical activity including walking, standing, lifting up to 25 pounds.
