The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for driving sustainable continuous improvement in the facility by delivering breakthrough results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Culture and Material/information flow. The CI Manager will work closely with the business leaders to provide program/project coordination for all CI projects by leading and facilitate cross-functional teams to identify opportunities through development of analysis, reporting, metrics and change management. The position will also play a key role in maximizing site utilization and talent development. This position requires strong technical Lean Manufacturing and hands-on leadership skills.

Job Description

  • Work with the businesses to identify process opportunities to improve quality, customer service levels, unit cost, safety and compliance
  • Identify cost reduction, revenue enhancement and process improvement opportunities throughout the company by analyzing business data and implementing industry best practices.
  • Support lean initiatives in all program areas, focused on process improvement to improve quality and reduce waste with clear measurable outcomes
  • Change agent, challenging the status quo to drive to operations excellence and the will to drive change
  • Initiate and support a 5S program within the manufacturing/office areas – training, Implementing and auditing
  • Leads and facilitates Kaizen events to drive sustainable improvements
  • Develop and execute improvement action plans
  • Build an employee engaged work environment
  • Develop tracking tools and measures to support CI initiatives
  • Develops business case justification for projects and initiatives
  • Leverage resources and share best practices across all programs
  • Establishes and drives productivity pipeline roadmaps across programs and facility
  • Tracks and analyzes the CI initiatives
  • Building cultural change throughout the organization
  • Work with customers, suppliers and all levels of management staff
  • Responsible for managing multiple projects at the same time

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering (preferably Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical)
  • Trained in Lean methodologies - 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Cell balancing, Standard Work, and Mistake-Proofing
  • Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience with a minimum of 5 years spent in a full-time continuous improvement role
  • Green Belt Six Sigma certification (Preferred)
  • Proven ability facilitating and sustain Kaizen events and results
  • Strong project management skills with proven ability to drive projects to completion with long-term sustainability
  • Ability to influence and couch across all tiers of the organization
  •  Experience using ERP and MES software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • The CI Manager should possess extensive technical skills and hands-on experience in continuous improvement manufacturing activities
  • Self-motivated, highly organized with demonstrated ability to work multiple projects concurrently
