Job Description
In this role, you will shape the hardware architecture of our current and future product platforms. Working closely with Firmware, Product Management, Quality Assurance, and our development partners, you will design future-proof embedded hardware for innovative RFID and access control solutions.
- Hardware Architecture – Define the hardware architecture and system partitioning of our product platforms while balancing technical requirements, manufacturability, cost, and long-term product strategy.
- RF & Interface Architecture – Design and review analog and digital front-ends for RFID, NFC, and other communication interfaces, ensuring reliable interoperability and coexistence.
- PCB & Hardware Design – Define requirements for PCB layout, power management, signal integrity, and EMC/EMI-compliant hardware design.
- Secure by Design – Develop hardware concepts that support modern cybersecurity requirements such as secure elements, trusted execution environments, and hardware cryptographic accelerators.
- Cross-functional Collaboration – Work closely with Firmware, Test Engineering, Product Management, and suppliers.
- Lifecycle Management – Drive component selection and develop sustainable strategies for component availability, obsolescence management, and long product lifecycles.
Qualifications
- Education – You hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field.
- Hardware Development – You have several years of hands-on experience in the design and architecture of embedded hardware systems.
- Microcontrollers – You have strong expertise in microcontroller-based systems and experience specifying MCUs and secure elements.
- Hardware Design – You possess in-depth knowledge of HW architecture, power management, EMC/EMI, and signal integrity.
- Communication – You are fluent in English and enjoy collaborating with international colleagues, suppliers, and development partners.
- Working Style – You have a structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach and can balance technical requirements to develop sustainable hardware architectures.

- Working Model – Up to 40% remote work is possible. Regular presence at our headquarters in Puchheim is expected for close collaboration with development teams and hardware validation.
