The Egis engineering division is now almost 200 people strong across four offices in Dublin, Castlebar, Cork and Limerick. This role can be based from any of these.
Job Description
- Designer's Site Representative support throughout the construction phase including management of the certification procedure for the DSR.
- Monitor construction works for compliance with approved drawings, specifications and design intent.
- Review works across relevant infrastructure packages, which include pavements, drainage, utilities, structures, earthworks and geotechnical works.
- Provide a day-to-day link between the site construction teams and the wider design team.
- Issuing Designer's Site Changes.
- Managing of site inspections and diaries for the DSR team.
- Reviewing contractor submissions and method statements and raising non-compliance reports.
- Identify potential design or construction issues at an early stage and communicate these to the appropriate design discipline.
- Review and respond to Technical Queries (TQs) and RFIs, coordinating with the wider design team where required.
- Monitor quality and workmanship and identify departures from the approved design.
- Assist with NCRs, defects and corrective actions, ensuring appropriate technical input is obtained.
- Witness inspections and testing where required and review relevant quality documentation.
- Maintain accurate site records and provide regular reports to the design/project team.
- Attend site, design and progress meetings and contribute to the resolution of construction-stage technical issues.
- Work collaboratively with the client, contractor, designers and other project stakeholders while maintaining the responsibilities of the designer-side role.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.
- 5-10 years experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods.
- Experience with project planning, cost control and technical problem solving.
- Evidence of leading project and technical teams.
