Job Description

Position: Urban Planner
Experience: 5–7 Years
Location:Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands
Qualification: Master’s Degree in Urban Planning / Town Planning / Regional Planning or related field

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation of the Detailed Master Plan for the Township.
  • Support preparation of land-use plans, zoning proposals, development control strategies and phasing plans.
  • Assist in developing access and movement strategies, street hierarchy and land-use–transport integration in coordination with the planning team.
  • Prepare and analyse existing and proposed land-use, infrastructure, social amenities and development potential.
  • Support planning for mixed-use development, housing, commercial/tourism areas, public amenities and open spaces/blue-green networks.
  • Assist in preparation of zonal plans, layout plans and development/phasing strategies for the township.
  • Undertake site visits, data collection, stakeholder consultations and analysis to support planning proposals.
  • Assist in preparation of planning reports, presentations, maps and other project deliverables.
  • Support the team in incorporating client/authority comments and suggestions into the Draft and Final Master Plan.
  • Assist in coordination with government agencies and stakeholders for necessary approvals and statutory processes.

Qualifications

Qualification: Master’s Degree in Urban Planning / Town Planning / Regional Planning or related field

Additional Information

 

  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in Urban/Town Planning, Master Planning, Development Plans or large-scale township projects.
  • Master’s degree in Urban Planning / Town Planning / Regional Planning or allied discipline.
  • Experience in land-use planning, zoning, development planning and infrastructure-led urban planning.
  • Good understanding of TOD principles, sustainable urban development and GIS-based planning will be preferred.
  • Experience in government/PMC/consultancy projects will be an advantage.
  • Strong skills in GIS/AutoCAD, MS Office, report preparation and presentations.
  • Good coordination and communication skills, with willingness to work from the Client Office, Port Blair.
