Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Manager to join our Engineering & Construction team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will be responsible for managing project costs, developing budgets, and ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver projects within approved financial parameters while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates and budgets for engineering and construction projects of varying complexity and scale
- Monitor and analyze project expenditures against approved budgets, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions
- Prepare detailed cost reports and financial forecasts for project stakeholders and senior management
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and feasibility studies to support project decision-making
- Manage contract negotiations with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to optimize costs without compromising quality
- Maintain accurate cost documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards
- Utilize cost management software and ERP systems to track, record, and report financial data
- Collaborate with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency improvements
- Review change orders and assess their financial impact on project budgets
- Provide cost management guidance and support to project managers and engineering teams
- Ensure adherence to Saudi Arabian construction regulations and local compliance requirements
- Participate in project meetings and present cost performance metrics to stakeholders
Qualifications
- Minimum exp 10 years of experience in cost management within the engineering and construction industry
- Proven expertise in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial forecasting
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project delivery methods, and industry standards
- Proficiency with cost management software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Experience with contract management and vendor negotiation
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience working on projects in the Middle East or Saudi Arabia (preferred)
- Knowledge of Saudi Arabian construction regulations and compliance requirements (preferred)
- Experience in risk management and contingency planning (preferred)
- Proven track record of implementing cost control measures and achieving cost savings
- Professional certification in cost management or related field (preferred)
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across departments
