Job Description
We are the Incident Response and Maintenance (IR&M) provider for Transurban's Sydney Southern Network spanning more than 33km of interconnected motorways and tunnels including the M4, M5, M8, M4-M8 Link and Rozelle Interchange. This will be expanded to include the Cross City Tunnel, Eastern Distributor and M5 Southwest.
The Company is looking to recruit a Health Safety and Training Coordinator to work within the QSES team located primarily at the Kingsgrove and Homebush sites.
The role is available immediately and will complement a dynamic group willing to provide training to the right candidate on a major infrastructure project.
Overall responsibility in the role will be assisting to roll out and monitor various HSE initiatives, work alongside the workgroups to ensure documentation requirements within the Quality System (Integrated Contract Management System "ICMS") are maintained, act as the Health & Safety and Return-to-Work Coordinator onsite, as well as ensure the teams qualifications and training needs are met and maintained.
Working on a 24/7 project, this role does require a Drivers Licence with own vehicle, while the salary is commensurate of the preference to work a mixture of days and nights to attend closures.
Qualifications
Required Experience Skills and Qualifications
Proven WHS or related experience in construction, maintenance or similar field
Experience in managing administration of HSE Systems, eg Rapid, Permitted
Experience in conducting Risk Assessments, reviewing SWMS and knowledge of other Safety documentation essential
Attention to detail
Advanced computer skills, inclusive of excel
A strong work ethic along with problem-solving and demonstratable customer and results orientation
Certificate IV in WHS preferred, with willingness to obtain if not held
Return to Work Coordinator training preferred, with willingness to obtain if not held
Presentation skills for leading pre-start and toolbox meetings
White Card and First Aid.

This role will be reporting to the Health Safety and Training Lead who has a number of years industry experience and is keen to develop and see team members thrive.
Training in performing breath testing on devices and any new initiatives will be provided.
All positions will need to:
Participate in daily pre-starts, monthly toolbox meetings & risk assessments
Ensure that safe work practices are observed at all time
Have a thorough understanding and commitment to occupational health safety and environmental requirements.
