Qualifications
This role is normally performed by Interior Designer with more than 10 years of experience with a minimum of 4 years as a Senior Interior Designer.
The Senior Interior Designer works with the Head of Department (HOD) whose involvement in the project(s) may vary from occasional monitoring to full time involvement. The Senior Interior Designer may be the only person assigned to the project(s) at certain stages of the project other than the HOD, or may be responsible for managing a number of Project Design Team members on the project or, for large projects, the package they are responsible for. The Senior Interior Designer co-ordinates the work of the members of the project design team. The Senior Interior Designer role is undertaken by professional staff with this designation in the firm.
Primary Objectives of the Role
To manage the execution of the project on a day-to-day basis in accordance with
- Omrania’s appointment,
- The Authorized Project Budget and the approved design proposals.
- the QA procedures
- The design proposals approved through Omrania’s design review and approval process.
The role of the Senior Interior Designer is to develop interiors for a variety of building types, including commercial, corporate, hospitality, and mixed use developments from initial concept and preliminary design to final design and construction documentation level, including preparation of mood boards and material sample boards, FF&E schedules, development of construction details and coordination/integration of Structural, MEP services. To act as the coordinator of the Omrania Interior design team and, at day-to-day operational level, the Client’s project manager, other consultants and contractors.
Accountabilities
- The Senior Interior Designer reports to the HOD.
- The Senior Interior Designer consults with the HOD on the actions they are taking and must always seek HOD approval prior to taking action that might commit the firm beyond the appointment and agreed design.
Primary Responsibilities
- Creative thinking and ability to produce brilliant interior design concepts.
- Supervising the activities of interior designers and detailers to ensure the proper interpretation of project briefs and client requirements, development of designs and preparation of construction documentation.
- Preparation of space allocation programs for new building designs.
- Preparation of sketch layouts and details for finalization by interior designers/detailers.
- Selection and specification of materials, furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E).
- Ensuring that the interior design is properly coordinated with the requirements of other design disciplines.
- Knowledge in applicable international codes (NFPA, IBC, ADA) and interior systems.
- Experience in soft finishes (textiles, veneers, rugs, and furniture).
- Ensuing the completeness and quality of the output of interior design team.
- Ensuring that work is prepared and completed in accordance with established project design schedules.
- Liaising/supporting on RFPs and BD requirements, Client meeting attendance as would be expected of a Senior Interior designer with this level of experience along with Company processes in line with project output such as Smartsheets or similar resource allocation to suit management of projects and team delivery.

Additional Information
- Suitable candidates will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in interior design and have a minimum of 10 years’ experience, with a minimum of 4 years as a Senior Interior Designer, with a thorough knowledge of all aspects of interior design.
- Good freehand and oral presentation skills and an excellent understanding of interior design, material, finishes, products and construction detailing are essential.
- The ability to use Revit, AutoCAD, 3D-Max, Sketch Up and Photoshop presentation software would be a significant advantage.
- Managing the design team time and tasks within the approved budget
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in GCC region.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in BIM process, implementation and workflows.
