Job Description
We are seeking a Water Planning Engineer with 2+ years of experience or a Senior Water Planning Engineer with 5+ years’ experience to join our Integrated Water Planning Team.
This role can be based in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or Newcastle.
Qualifications
In this role, you will contribute to the hydraulic assessment and strategic planning of water supply and wastewater networks, supporting growth, regulatory compliance, network performance, and asset renewals. Your responsibilities will include master planning, options analysis, operational investigations, and the development of concept designs.
Main Duties:
- Undertake hydraulic modelling for water wastewater networks including model build, model calibration and system performance assessment.
- Apply sound hydraulic engineering principles to assess, define and resolve water and wastewater network issues
- Prepare technical reports and presentations to clearly communicate findings to clients.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior staff where appropriate.
- Assist with building and maintaining strong client relationships
About You
You are interested in a career in water/ wastewater planning and hydraulic modelling and are motivated to learn and work with a high-performing team. Ideally you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, Process, Environmental Engineering or related field
Minimum of 2+ years’ experience or a more experienced Senior Engineer with 5+ years’ experience in Water & Wastewater Network Planning and Design:
- Detailed hydraulic assessments
- Design experience advantageous
- Technical expertise in hydraulic principals hydraulic modelling including experience with one or more of the following software packages is advantageous:
- InfoWorks WS Pro, InfoWorks ICM
- WaterCAD/GEMS, SewerCAD/GEMS
