Job Description
- Develop detailed track design plans for rail and transit projects, factoring in alignment, curvatures, elevation, and grading.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure track design aligns with overall project goals and specifications.
- Conduct feasibility studies and analyses to optimize track layout for efficiency and safety.
- Perform alignment studies and assessments to determine the most suitable routes for rail and transit systems.
- Utilize advanced engineering software and tools to model and analyze alignment options, considering challenges related to topography, geography, and environmental considerations.
- Ensure that track and alignment designs adhere to industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines. Stay abreast of evolving industry practices and contribute to the development of internal standards.
- Prepare comprehensive design reports, drawings, and specifications. Collaborate with drafting and documentation teams to create accurate and detailed technical documentation.
- Work closely with project managers and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of track and alignment designs within larger project scopes.
- Provide technical support during construction and address any design-related challenges that may arise.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field) and typically 5 years of related work experience.
- Proven experience in track and alignment design for rail or transit projects.
- Proficiency in related engineering software such as Open Rail and track alignment design tools, Bentley and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations and safety protocols.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
