Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of architectural elements, including walls, drywall, doors, windows, and other finishes to ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Perform rigorous testing of materials and construction methods to verify quality and structural integrity.
- Assess the need for field changes and communicate recommendations to project managers and architects.
- Collaborate with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to resolve change orders efficiently and effectively.
- Execute comprehensive final site inspections, ensuring all architectural elements meet required standards and project goals.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, and photographic documentation.
- Review and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure on-site implementation aligns with design intent.
- Monitor construction progress and identify potential issues that may impact project timelines or quality.
- Verify compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, as well as ADA requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure adherence to OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations.
- Participate in project meetings to provide updates on inspection findings and discuss potential solutions to identified issues.
- Stay current with industry trends, new building materials, and evolving construction techniques to maintain expertise in the field.
- Mentor and train junior inspectors, sharing knowledge and best practices in architectural inspection.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all inspections, tests, and communications related to each project.
- Collaborate with other specialized inspectors (e.g., electrical, plumbing) to ensure comprehensive quality control across all aspects of construction.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as Architecture or Architectural Engineering.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar or equivalent role.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, and trade practices.
