Job Description
THIS OPPORTUNITY:
The Railway Systems Integration Manager will provide senior engineering management with extensive lifecycle-wide knowledge of railway systems, including project delivery, systems assurance, safety engineering (Common Safety Management, interoperability, Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) and Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS), to the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance within the local context.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take a lead role in managing the Systems design team and managing all technical aspects related to all sub-systems disciplines such as Track, OCS, Power Supply, Signalling, Scada and Telecoms.
- Manage the system integration processes from design to construction and Testing and Commissioning using Digital techniques to improve System Integration.
- Implement efficient processes to manage system safety (including CDM, CSM-RA and interoperability), Verification and Validation (V&V) and system assurance.
- Be responsible for progressing all Sub-systems design and development activities and Ensure the Sub-systems design activities / deliverables (e.g. reports, calculations, drawings etc.) are delivered on time, quality, and budget.
- Leading the coordination effort with the design teams (internally or with partners) and with third parties for the external technical interfaces, in all technical and operational areas to ensure delivery of a safe and coherent system.
- Developing the interfacing strategy including the tools and processes, to ensure that the necessary interface activities can be accomplished in timely manner throughout the project life cycle.
- Proactively participating in the resolution of interface or integration conflicts by making technical proposals.
- Supporting the implementation of the quality assurance systems and all project technical plans and procedures for rail systems.
- Ensuring that all systems engineering objectives of the project are met to best international standards and practices.
- Be responsible for the consistency of the Sub-systems deliverables across all projects.
- Plan and coordinate the activities of the System design team (engineers, expert resources).
- Ensure the production of System level specifications across disciplines and across extensions (e.g. System Specifications, Interface Specifications, Transverse “ad hoc” studies).
- Ensure compliance to procedures, relevant regulations, relevant applicable standards and statutory requirements.
- Contribute towards the standardization of specifications for all sub-systems and develop appropriate design criteria wherever not present.
- Liaise with project Owner’s team for all system related issues or decisions, represent systems teams in meetings, provide technical opinion or support whenever needed, in liaison with the project management team.
- Contribute to the production of the project Owner’s Requirements Specifications.
- Develop the System Level Functional Specifications
- Coordinate the quality aspects of the sub-systems deliverables as per the project Quality Management Plan Principles.
- Review and approve (wherever applicable) all deliverables, act as a technical control level across projects, and ensure the consistency of interfaces with other technical disciplines (e.g. infrastructures)
- Be one of the systems railways technical point of contact with client.
- Actively contribute to the group's technical signature visibility among our clients and prospects
- Contribute to technical communities and collaborate with the Egis Experts network to integrate and disseminate best practices.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters degree with a background in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Systems or in Telecoms
- 15 years of engineering experience with a minimum of 5 years in a Systems Integrator or Design Manager position.
- Excellent understanding to Systems Engineering and associated rail standards and related regulations.
- Proven capability in managing design for a rail system, especially in multi-disciplinary environments
- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on effective engagement with diverse stakeholders and presenting complex information clearly,
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical and innovative solutions, and methodically process and organize technical information from various documents,
- Proficiency in spoken and written English (minimum B2 level).
- Experience in HSR is preferred and/or on major transportation projects (metro)International experience preferred
