Plans the Technology strategy to innovate and develop the company’s internal technology and external technology platform to align with the business strategy and create a market differentiator in company product. This executive role leads and develops technology infrastructure, eliminates security risks, increases customer and user satisfaction. This individual guides development and Innovation to be a market differentiator.
Role and Responsibilities
- Firm Leadership
- Makes decisions promptly and effectively by building consensus among partners, managers, and employees.
- Engages strategic planning process to ensure smooth running IT functionality
- Communicates and implement vision and strategic plan.
- Oversees and manages resources in the areas of IT, Innovation, Development and social media.
- Provides leadership and guidance for the technology function
- Manages resources in Innovation, Infrastructure and Development, including recruitment of appropriate skills, performance management and delivery of the department
- Manages department budget
- Financial Performance
- Supports and advises the CEO in decision making.
- Works with the CEO to establish a financial plan that achieve financial goals, including expenditures, revenue goals, and staff productivity goals.
- Prepares and manages the budget for the department and prepares forecasts
- Authorizes expenditures and purchases within the budget and gains approval for any expenditures outside of the budget from the CEO
- Technical Responsibility
- Develops and evolves a strategy around the Application
- Develops and manages SMART metrics for hardware, software and storage
- Plans around capacity of resources
- Directly manages the IT department, including Innovation and Development of the Application
- Manages the performance of employees in the IT team
- Collaborates with other departments around IT requirements, customer needs and experience requirements
- Reports to Managing Executive and Board as required
- Determines the business requirements for IT systems
- Ensures appropriate exposure to and management of social media
- Co-ordinates IT activities to ensure data availability and network services with as little downtime as possible
- Researches and recommends new technology solutions, software and hardware – stays abreast of technology development
