Project Description
The USAID Kumaliza Maphunziro Activity will build on existing structures to increase the availability, access, and quality of education, including remedial skills, life skills, health and leadership, mentorship, and financial inclusion.
Position Description
The Chief of Party (COP) shall be responsible for the overall management and implementation of the project and work together with the designated USAID Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). The COP shall supervise project implementation and ensure the project meets stated goals and reporting requirements. The COP will take a leadership role in coordination among USAID, key stakeholders, and other implementing partners.
Qualifications
Education:
A Master’s degree in Education, international development, or any relevant field.
Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in managing teams and implementing international donor-funded education programs in developing countries, prior experience in Malawi is preferred.
- Technical expertise and experience in multisectoral education interventions, inclusive of a combination of adolescent health, life skills, livelihoods/work readiness training, and alternative/accelerated education required.
- Experience across a range of educational settings, including formal and non-formal educational institutions, preferred.
- Experience with gender and social inclusion programming, particularly targeting adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of the Malawian education system an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in USAID funded programs that include strategic leadership and proven track record in designing, implementing, and managing program activities.
- Knowledge of USAID regulations and reporting requirements.
- A proven ability to identify and negotiate partnership opportunities and experience managing sub-partners.
- Exemplary management, supervision, communication, and interpersonal skills to ensure internal coherence among diverse team members and productive relations with the host government, donors, and the international community.
Language:
Fluency in English is required.
