The STEM and Workforce Success (SWS) Portfolio has an opening for a Casual Elementary Grades Curriculum Development Associate reporting to the Senior Project Director. This position will support an Infectious Disease Prevention Health Education Material Development project. US-based telecommuters will be considered.

EDC’s SWS Portfolio is a recognized leader and innovator in preK–20 STEM education and workforce development R&D, instructional design, technical support, teacher development, and strategic communications. SWS leads or co-leads 5 major federally funded centers focused on STEM education, demonstrating EDC’s capacity to develop innovative, effective products.

EDC casual employees generally work as needed.  A casual position receives statutory benefits of Social Security contributions, Medicare contributions, unemployment insurance, worker’s compensation insurance and sick leave.  A casual position ends when work is complete.

You will:

  • Conduct literature review and background research on elementary grades curriculum development related to infectious disease prevention strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of infectious disease prevention curriculum for grades K-5. Topics will likely include Germ Transmission, Understanding Illness, Preventative Measures, Age-Appropriate Content, Cultural Sensitivity, Empathy and Compassion.
  • Contribute to the development of Lesson Plans, Facilitator Guides, Toolkits, Digital Files, and Evaluation Plan.
  • Participate in project planning activities.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master's degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction or related field

Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in Education, Curriculum and Instruction or related field
  • Elementary curriculum scope and sequence design experience
  • Elementary classroom teaching experience

Preferred Education, Skills & Experience:

  • Grades K-2 curriculum scope and sequence design experience
  • Grades K-2 classroom teaching experience 
  • Design and facilitation of elementary teacher professional development learning experiences
  • Development of Crosswalks and Curriculum Maps for Common Core State Standards

This position offers an anticipated hourly base salary range of approximately $37.00 to $52.00.  Salary offers are made based on market analysis and internal equity.
