YEFED will strengthen the capacity of Guyana’s TVET system to prepare young people for employment and self-employment in important emerging sectors, including the digital and low-carbon economies, including through innovative training programs designed with industry practitioners.
Position Description
The Project Lead will have the overall responsibility for leading and coordinating all activities and all staff management. They will have principal responsibility for representation of the activity to EDC and the donor. The Project Lead should be able to manage financial and human resources effectively and exhibit a breadth of both technical expertise and management experience in youth development, workforce development, and employment programming.
Please note: This position is not eligible for relocation or posting allowances and the salary will be paid in Guyanese Dollars.
The candidate for the position of Project Lead shall have at a minimum the following qualifications:
Qualifications
Education:
Master’s degree in economics, social sciences, labor economics, development studies, business administration or another related field.
Skills and Experience:
- At least 7 years of demonstrated experience managing operational, project management and administrative duties for workforce development, youth education and employment activities or other similar internationally funded programs;
- Demonstrated experience leading complex and diverse teams;
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills;
- Deep understanding and knowledge of private sector partnerships for technical/vocational and youth workforce development programs;
- Familiarity with and experience in the field of sustainable development and/or low-carbon sectors a plus;
- Experience working in Guyana and/or the Caribbean.
