ACHIEVE is a forecasted Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) and Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) Activity funded by USAID/PEPFAR. ACHIEVE is designed to prevent new HIV infections and optimize outcomes for those living with HIV by fostering resilience among high-risk children, youth, and their caregivers in high-burden counties in South Sudan.

Interventions will be delivered at three levels to achieve all outcomes: (i) strengthened capacity of most vulnerable households to provide basic needs for their children and other family members; (ii) improved retention in care, treatment adherence, and viral load suppression for children and adolescents living with HIV; (iii) reduced incidence of new HIV infections among adolescent girls and young women; (iv) decreased experiences of sexual, physical, and emotional violence among children, adolescent girls, and young women. 

Position Description

The DREAMS Manager will oversee and provide technical direction to activities under ACHIEVE’s DREAMS (Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-Free, Mentored, and Safe) component, focused on preventing HIV and GBV among adolescent girls and young women. They will provide technical support and guidance to staff and partners to ensure high-quality implementation of sexual-reproductive health, HIV and GBV prevention, social asset-building, and service referrals and linkages components of the project.

Qualifications

The candidate for the position of DREAMS Manager shall have at a minimum the following qualifications:

Education:

Master’s degree in public health, social work, youth development, or a related field, with 7+ years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, youth development, or a related field, with 10+ years of related work experience.

Skills and Experience:

  • At least seven years of progressively responsible experience implementing donor-funded projects;
  • Technical work experience in adolescent sexual-reproductive health required;
  • Work experience in related areas including GBV prevention and response, community health, social and behavior change communication, child protection, and positive youth development;
  • Experience managing technical activities implemented by community-based implementing partners, providing capacity building support, and coaching and mentoring staff and partners to improve performance and results;
  • Experience strengthening health and/or social service referral systems and/or strengthening case management a plus;  
  • Experience with USAID and PEPFAR programs preferred; and
  • Demonstrated ability to engage local stakeholders and civil society actors around youth development and SRH/HIV/GBV issues.

Language:

Fluency in English is required.
