Job Description

The Early Childhood portfolio has an opening for a Senior Training & Technical Assistance Associate, reporting to the Programmatic Technical Assistance Specialist/Improvement Advisor.

This position will be a full-time, remote position covering technical assistance (TA) across two Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) funded projects, the Maternal Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Technical Assistance Resource Center (TARC) and the MIECHV Innovation Technical Assistance Center (ITAC). This position will spend approximately 70% of time as a programmatic TA specialist for TARC and 30 percent as an implementation TA specialist for ITAC.

The TARC supports MIECHV awardees in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five territories in strengthening home visiting services to improve outcomes for pregnant people, children, and families. ITAC provides technical assistance through 1:1 engagement, a learning collaborative, and resources to support MIECHV Innovation awardees develop, implement, and evaluate innovations that leverage new technologies and/or data collection to enhance the delivery and extend the impact of high-quality early childhood home visiting programs.

You will:

  • Provide targeted TA on program implementation to a cadre of MIECHV awardees and contributing to development of project reports.
  • Engage in regular team meetings with the programmatic workstream to improve the quality of TA provided.
  • Work as a team to identify and support the TA needs of awardees.
  • Deliver virtual technical assistance to ITAC awardees relevant to maternal and child health, health equity and social determinants of health, program design and implementation, workforce development, use of new technology in home visiting, family recruitment and retention, and early childhood systems.
  • Contribute to and/or leading universal TA activities and products as needed (e.g., webinars, written products, podcasts, communities of practice).
  • Participate in Grand Rounds and other opportunities to advance knowledge and TA skills.

Qualifications

This position requires educational achievement; excellent writing skills; demonstrable initiative, creativity, and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; and strong interpersonal & organizational skills.

Education:

  • Master’s degree in public health, social work or a related field with 7-10 years of experience in statewide home visiting program leadership and/or providing TA to home visiting programs or other maternal and child health programs.

Other skills/experience:

  • Program implementation in home visiting or similar field
  • Providing TA to community or state programs
  • Provision of TA on health equity and addressing social and structural determinants of health
  • Group facilitation, including effective facilitation strategies and methods for engaging participants virtually

Preferred education and skills/experience:

  • Management of a program with multiple federal funding streams
  • Knowledge of active implementation and use of process consultation in TA
  • Integration of home visiting as part of an early childhood system

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $74,000 to $119,000. Salary offers are made based on market analysis and internal equity.
