Job Description

EDC’s Health Promotion, Practice, and Innovation (HPPI) portfolio includes a range of projects that aim to promote social and emotional wellbeing, promote mental and behavioral health, and to prevent risky behaviors such as substance misuse, violence, and suicide. Our project beneficiaries range from state agencies (e.g., state departments of public health and education), community-based organizations, and school districts. Our funders include federal agencies, state agencies, foundations, community-based organizations, and school districts. Our work includes trainings and professional development opportunities, technical assistance and consultation, and research and evaluation. 

The HPPI Portfolio has an opening for a full-time Operations Project Manager, reporting to the appropriate Project Director. The position is eligible to work in one of EDC’s offices and is open to U.S.-based telecommuters. This position is contingent on funding.

We are seeking a very strong project manager with the ability to apply project management principles to support multiple projects. We expect this position to support multiple new projects within HPPI. This position will focus on identifying, adapting, and/or building systems, processes, and communication mechanisms to ensure efficient operations and coordination of timely deliverables across multiple, fast-paced projects. Selected candidates will support work in various content areas as business demands.

You will:

  • Serve as the overall project management lead for several projects, working closely with each Project Director and other project leadership
  • Support the adaptation and/or development of core project systems, including deliverables monitoring, budget and staffing management, coordination with internal staff and external funders, and overseeing administrative functions
  • Interface directly with contract funders and partners to coordinate responses to information requests and ensure continuous communication on project progress
  • Serve as an Office 365 Coordinator and key translator between technical skilled and programmatic content staff
  • Mentor and possibly supervise, junior staff in their role to provide project coordination and administrative support across contracts

Qualifications

What skills and experience are needed:  

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, at least 5 years related experience
  • Master’s degree, at least 4 years related experience (preferred)

Other Skills/Experience

  • This position requires educational achievement; excellent writing skills; demonstrable initiative, creativity, and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; and strong interpersonal & organizational skills
  • Ability to ensure efficient and effective communication and collaboration across diverse contract staff and partners
  • Demonstrable organizational and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong analytical skills and aptitude for details
  • Experience managing strictly scoped contracts strongly preferred

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $64,000 to $83,000.  Salary offers are made based on market analysis and internal equity.
