Job Description

The Health Promotion, Practice, and Innovation Portfolio, within EDC's US Division, has openings for (Casual) Trainers/Facilitators specializing in substance misuse prevention, reporting to the Senior Project Director in the EDC Chicago Office. This is a remote-friendly position, but does require domestic travel as needed. 

The person in this position is expected to communicate clearly and courteously; to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, collaborators, co-workers, field sites, and funders; and to work respectfully with EDC colleagues. The job requires adherence to EDC policies & procedures.

  • Provide subject matter expertise internally to EDC staff conducting related work under prevention solutions (i.e. substance misuse prevention, emerging issues, evidence-based practices)
  • Develop and deliver webinars and trainings as requested on relevant topics associated with substance misuse prevention
  • Serve as facilitator for strategic planning work associated with prevention of substance misuse.

Qualifications

This position requires excellent writing skills; demonstrable initiative, creativity, and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; and strong interpersonal & organizational skills.

Specific Requirements:

  • Degree: Bachelors or Associates or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years of experience, ideally within substance misuse prevention or public health
  • Strong training and facilitation skills
  • Experience in instructional design and strategic planning
  • Domestic travel required - as requested for onsite training, meetings or conferences, and to facilitate strategic planning.
