Job Description

The Health Promotion, Practice, and Innovation (HPPI) portfolio includes a range of projects that aim to promote social and emotional wellbeing, promote mental and behavioral health, and to prevent risky behaviors such as substance misuse, violence, and suicide. Our project beneficiaries range from state agencies (e.g., state departments of public health and education), community-based organizations, and school districts. Our funders include federal agencies, state agencies, foundations, community-based organizations, and school districts. Our work includes trainings and professional development opportunities, technical assistance and consultation, and research and evaluation. 

The HPPI Portfolio has an opening for full-time Technology Solutions Manager, reporting to the SPTAC Administrative Director. The position is eligible to work in one of EDC’s offices and is open to U.S.-based telecommuters. (No internationally based telecommuters will be considered.)

We expect this position to initially support the Strategic Prevention Technical Assistance Center (SPTAC) project; with potential to expand to support other roles. Broadly, this position has the potential for a general focus on substance misuse prevention, suicide prevention, violence prevention, and related behavioral health concerns. Selected candidates could transition between these and other areas as business demands.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The person in this position is expected to communicate clearly and courteously; to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, collaborators, co-workers, field sites, and funders; and to work respectfully with EDC colleagues. The job requires adherence to EDC policies & procedures.

The Technology Solutions Manager will:

  • Serve as the overall lead for the project’s technology needs, working closely with EDC’s DevTech team and the SPTAC project leadership team
  • Understand and work with EDC’s Tech Team to ensure FISMA compliance and compile regular compliance reports
  • Work with EDC’s DevTech on setup of the SPTAC TA Database
  • Serve as an Office 365 Coordinator and key translator between technical skilled and programmatic content staff.
  • Mentor, possibly supervise, junior staff in their role to host/facilitate/train the tech support for webinars, posting/cataloging online courses, serving as an Office 365 Coordinator for the SPTAC SharePoint site, cataloging / sending website content to funder for posting on the SAMHSA-hosted SPTAC website
  • Assists Project Director with responsibilities for programmatic/technical success as well as for administrative/business/financial viability of project(s)
  • Assists with production and management of resources to meet project or program development implementation objectives, including overseeing research and conducting market research
  • Supports business development activities

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires educational achievement; excellent writing skills; demonstrable initiative, creativity, and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; and strong interpersonal & organizational skills. Specific requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training & experience
  • At least 5 years related experience
  • With Master’s degree, at least 4 years related experience preferred
  • Demonstrable organizational and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong analytical skills and aptitude for details
  • Must be able to travel

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $64,000 to $83,000.  Salary offers are made based on market analysis and internal equity.
