The Health Promotion, Practice and Innovation Portfolio (HPPI) has an opening for a Positive Behaviors Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Senior Advisor reporting to the Project Director. The HPPI portfolio includes projects related to social and emotional learning (SEL), school-based mental health supports, substance misuse prevention, and suicide prevention. This position has a specific focus on school-based mental health supports.

EDC casual employees generally work as needed. A casual position receives statutory benefits of Social Security contributions, Medicare contributions, unemployment insurance, worker’s compensation insurance and sick leave.  A casual position ends when work is complete.

This position is open to US-based telecommuters. Strong candidate identified.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The person in this position is expected to communicate clearly and courteously; to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, collaborators, co-workers, field sites, and funders; and to work respectfully with EDC colleagues. The job requires adherence to EDC policies & procedures.

The PBIS Senior Advisor will:  

  • Provide subject matter expertise related to PBIS to internal staff in the development of project resources
  • Contribute to the development of client-oriented technical assistance and trainings

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires educational achievement; excellent writing skills; demonstrable initiative, creativity, and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; and strong interpersonal & organizational skills.

Specific requirements:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • PhD or equivalent preferred
  • With Master’s degree, 10–13 years related experience, including 5+ years prior project management or program development experience, plus expert experience with computer applications (including databases), psychometric or statistical measurement techniques, and Internet research
  • With PhD, 5–8 years related experience (as above)
  • Demonstrable leadership skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and aptitude for details
  • Experience in school leadership, school-level systems, and/or school-level strategic planning
  • Demonstrated expertise in PBIS
