Throughout the US, EDC builds the capacity of home visiting programs through the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Technical Assistance Resource Center (TARC) to address social determinants of health and to better serve and support pregnant people, families, and children. Funded by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), the MIECHV Program is designed to build on the strengths of families to ensure the well-being and school readiness of children in high-risk communities.

Job Description

The Senior Fiscal Training & Technical Assistance Associate (T&TAA) is in a unique position to build and support the capacity of MIECHV awardees (50 states and six territories) through online training, small group technical assistance, and 1:1 support. The Senior Fiscal T&TAA works closely with the programmatic TA team to coordinate support for awardees, as needed. While MIECHV TARC receives many TA requests, fiscal challenges are one of the most commonly requested areas. This is a part-time (20-28 hours/week), US-based telework position eligible for full benefits. 

You will:

  • Provide fiscal technical assistance to MIECHV awardees virtually and/or in-person with an emphasis on fiscal monitoring and grants management
  • Respond to requests from HRSA and awardees to meet their needs such as fiscal sustainability, evolving funding opportunities, fiscal considerations for transition planning, etc.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of TA specialists
  • Contribute to new fiscal products and technical assistance approaches in coordination with the federal advisor
  • Advise the project director and HRSA of any pertinent issues or new trends arising through technical assistance

Qualifications

You’ll be successful in this role if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting and at least six years experience working in a related field; at least 4 years of experience in accounting, OR an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. 
  • Experience managing, auditing and/or training on federal grants management
  • An ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team of technical assistance specialists
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience providing training and technical assistance on federal grants

Nice to have’s:

  • Experience with HRSA grants management
  • Master’s degree with at least five years of experience
  • Certification in Public Accounting
