Project Description
The USAID Let’s Read Zambia project is a 5-year project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the Education Development Center (EDC). USAID Let’s Read Zambia works to improve reading outcomes for children attending pre-primary (kindergarten) through to Grades 3 and provide professional development for teachers to support reading interventions in Zambian public and community schools.
Job Description
The USAID Let’s Read project seeks to hire Short term Consultancy voice actors for Interactive Audio Instruction (IAI) Early Childhood Education (ECE) Audio programs as follows;
Five (5) voice actors for Kikaonde;
· 2 adult female actors
· 1 adult male actor
· 1 girl child actor
· 1 boy child actor
Five (5) Voice actors for Lunda;
. 2 adult female actors
· 1 adult male actor
· 1 girl child actor
· 1 boy child actor
Five (5) Voice actors for Luvale;
. 2 adult female actors
· 1 adult male actor
· 1 girl child actor
· 1 boy child actor
Five (5) Voice actors for Silozi;
. 2 adult female actors
· 1 adult male actor
· 1 girl child actor
· 1 boy child actor
Three (3) actors for Icibemba and Cinyanja.
· 1 adult female actor for Icibemba and
· I girl child actor and 1 boy child actor for Cinyanja.
Must be able to speak the respective local language; as this is an instructional program, proper pronunciation and vocalization will be a key requirement
Must be able to adhere to times set for recording materials as per provided schedule.
Prior experience as an actor working on similar educational programs is an advantage.
Qualifications
· Child Actors must be between the ages of 7 to 12. Child actors must have written consent from parents/guardians to participate in recordings.
· Adult Actors must be between the ages of 25 to 45.
