Job Description

EDC has worked successfully in the international development community for decades and wishes to continue these efforts.

Position Summary:

EDC works in the international development arena and conducts research for use in the development of proposals in response to the expected solicitations.  The Business Development Special Casual for Recruitment is a short-term position that will help identify and recruit staff, research information relating to the upcoming solicitations. This will include collecting information, helping to filter and analyze information, scheduling and leading interviews, collecting interview feedback, conducting references, extending proposal salary offers, formatting CVs and writing candidate biographies, as needed.

The Business Development Special Casual for Recruitment in this position is expected to communicate clearly and courteously; to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, collaborators, co-workers, and field sites; and to work respectfully with EDC colleagues. The job requires adherence to EDC policies and procedures. This person will also convey organizational philosophy and values.

This is a short-term, intermitttent, part time position which does not include the standard EDC benefits package.

Qualifications

This position requires educational achievement; excellent writing skills; demonstrable initiative, creativity, and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; and strong interpersonal & organizational skills. Specific requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 12 years of related experience, including a minimum of 3 years' experience in full life-cycle recruiting for international development proposals  
  • Exemplary organizational & analytical skills
  • Outstanding communication skills  
  • Commitment to fostering equity, diversity and inclusion
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Capacity to multi-task, function well under pressure, and build consensus
  • Fluency in English
  • Proficiency in French or Spanish is desired, but not required
  • Prior experience with applicant tracking systems preferred
