Project Description 

The TEACH FOR TOMORROW activity’s overall goal is to support improved teaching of the reformed curricula at the primary level by qualified, incentivized, and continuously developed teachers; and furthermore, to institutionalize a Continuous Professional Development system that adapts to Egyptian educators’ evolving professional development needs.  ICT is an important aspect of this national-level reform.

Job Description

The Deputy Chief of Party complements the strengths and responsibilities of the Chief of Party, and is responsible, under the supervision and in close coordination with the Chief of Party, for day-to-day project management, including management of project’s operations and administration, staff, activities and sub-awards and oversight of monitoring, evaluation and reporting.

Qualifications

The candidate for the position of Deputy Chief of Party shall have at a minimum the following qualifications.

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Public Policy, International Development or a relevant field from a nationally or internationally recognized university; Master’s degree preferred.

Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of ten years (eight years with a Master’s degree) of progressively responsible experience managing educational development projects,  preferably in the field of education reform;
  • Ability to participate in all representation and technical meetings in English;
  • Experience managing projects in Egypt; and
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.  

Language:

Fluency in Arabic and professional proficiency in English are required.
