JOB OVERVIEW

The Senior Design Project Manager, known at Eataly as the Senior Project Manager, Renovations is a key member of the Development team at Eataly, taking a critical role in delivering Eataly’s North America growth strategy. The Senior Project Manager, Renovations is responsible for the overall planning and execution of Renovation projects across all Eataly stores.

Reports to the Design Director.

  • Participates in the definition of the yearly strategy for renovation projects, jointly with the Design Director, the VP of Store Development, the store leadership team and the executive team
  • Partners with the Design Director as well as the OpEx and Facilities Director to define the overall Renovation Capex Budget
  • Oversees the Renovation Capex Budget, reporting regularly on budget and cash flow
  • Manages all stages of renovation projects from design, budgeting and pre-construction to construction and project closeout
  • Prepares scope documents for directing the design, budgeting, and internal/external coordination efforts
  • Develops the estimated budget and timeline for each project
  • Selects, jointly with the Design Director, architects/contractors/subcontractors or other organizations to participate in projects
  • Develops schematic designs and, in collaboration with the Design Team, leads the design development process with or without the support of external architects and consultants
  • Oversees procurement and tracking of materials and equipment
  • Monitors and directs the performance of the general contractor and/or subcontractors during the construction phase
  • Ensures each project adheres to legislation, standards and codes of best practice
  • Conducts kickoff, department review and executive review meetings on renovation projects on a regular basis
  • Acts as a trade union between different teams in corporate and in the stores for successful delivery of each project
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in Architecture or Construction Management
  • 5+ years of general design and construction experience; 1+ years of retail/restaurant-specific construction experience
  • Experience managing multiple project budgets simultaneously
  • Excellent technical and software skills, including Revit, Cad and/or Sketch Up; ProjectMates software a plus
  • Exceptional project management and time-management skills
  • Outstanding communication, motivation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; eager to learn

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Availability to travel approximately 40% of the time or more, depending on project status
