Job Description
The Head, Projects & Development is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic projects and infrastructure developments across the organization. This includes overseeing project design, budgeting, scheduling, quality control, and stakeholder engagement. The role ensures that all projects are aligned with organizational goals and are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end management of capital and infrastructure projects from initiation to completion.
- Develop and implement project strategies, frameworks, and methodologies in line with best practices.
- Oversee feasibility studies, design reviews, risk assessments, and project evaluations.
- Manage project teams, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure efficiency and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Prepare and present project proposals, progress reports, and completion documentation to senior management and stakeholders.
- Foster collaboration across departments to integrate development initiatives with organizational priorities.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in project management processes.
- Evaluate and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle, including mitigation strategies and contingency planning.
- Oversee procurement processes related to project materials, services, and external contractors.
- Ensure proper documentation, archiving, and knowledge transfer of all project-related information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Architecture, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record in delivering complex development or infrastructure projects within scope, time, and budget.
- Strong knowledge of project planning tools, financial modeling, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in stakeholder management, contract administration, and team leadership.
