Job Description

Production Estimator – Retail Exhibits

The Retail Production Estimator is responsible for Estimating an extensive variety of projects including but not limited to interactive displays, point of purchase displays, and retail fixtures.  Manages sourcing, estimating materials & fixtures, and negotiations with domestic and international vendors.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide pricing based on initial sketch, renderings, or design intent drawings.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to obtain accurate and timely pricing from vendors.
  • Consult with vendors, designers, and production managers to meet client parameters/budget. 
  • Contact supply chain to obtain quotes.  Assist in approved supply chain for on time quotations, quality, and cost competitiveness.
  • Summarize costs and consult with the sales team regarding pricing strategies.
  • Prepare quotations for clients.
  • Attend release meetings with appropriately prepared information.
  • Assist in the evaluation and certification of potential vendors and/or new processes and materials.
  • Research new material, processes, and suppliers as needed.
  • Review quality standards, tolerances, and guidelines with new suppliers.
  • Effectively communicates relevant project information to all parties in a timely manner to avoid any delays in pricing or production.
  • Manages internal/external client expectations regarding pricing delivery dates.
  • Offer ideas and options to improve project viability and reduce costs.
  • Manage relationships between EWI and approved supply chain.

 

Qualifications

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies.

  • Estimating experience in exhibit/retail display environment is preferred but not required.
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent experience and training) with related college degree preferred.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to:

  • Use spreadsheet software; Inventory software; Project
    Management software and other computer program
  • Coordinate projects
  • Complete projects on time
  • Respond promptly to customer needs
  • Focus on solving conflict, not blaming while keeping emotions under control
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
  • Work to develop an approved budget
  • Develop and implement cost saving measures
  • Work with integrity and ethically
  • Uphold organizational values
