Job Description

The Channel Operations Clerk is responsible for supporting daily warehouse and distribution operations by coordinating transportation schedules, performing quality assurance inspections on incoming shipments, operating material handling equipment, and maintaining accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS). This role ensures the efficient flow of products through the facility while maintaining safety, quality, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation & Scheduling

  • Schedule inbound and outbound truck appointments to support operational requirements.
  • Coordinate with carriers, drivers, warehouse personnel, and customers to ensure timely loading and unloading activities.
  • Monitor transportation schedules and communicate delays or changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate shipment documentation and transportation records.

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct inspections of incoming loads to verify product quality, quantity, and compliance with company standards.
  • Identify and document damaged, missing, or non-conforming products.
  • Ensure receiving processes meet quality and safety requirements.
  • Work with operations and quality teams to resolve discrepancies and corrective actions.

Warehouse Operations

  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, move, and store inventory.
  • Assist with receiving, put-away, replenishment, and shipping activities.
  • Follow all warehouse safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.
  • Support inventory control activities and cycle counts as needed.

Warehouse Management System (WMS)

  • Enter and update receiving, inventory, and shipping transactions within the WMS.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and investigate inventory discrepancies.
  • Generate reports and provide data support for operational performance tracking.
  • Ensure all transactions are completed accurately and timely.

 

 

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous warehouse, logistics, transportation, or distribution experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, carriers, and customers.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
