Job Description
THE POSITION:
We’re seeking a hands-on WMS Workflow Developer to design, configure, and optimize warehouse workflows in Datex WMS with a focus on 3PL operations and pharmaceutical distribution. You will own process design, configuration changes, integrations, and production support—ensuring compliant, efficient, and scalable operations across multiclient environments. You’ll partner with Operations, Quality/Compliance, Customer Solutions, and IT to implement compliant workflows (e.g., FEFO, lot/batch control, quarantine/QA holds, cold chain/temperature-controlled handling) aligned to DSCSA, cGMP/GDP, and 21 CFR Part 11.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our employees are tasked with delivering excellent business results through the efforts of their teams. These results are achieved by:
Workflow Design & Configuration (Datex WMS)
- Design, build, test, and deploy Datex WMS workflows (receiving, putaway, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, cycle counting, returns/Reverse Logistics, VAS/kitting).
- Configure FEFO/expiry, lot/batch, serial/UDI, status management (quarantine/QA hold/release), and temperature-controlled processes.
- Implement 3PL billing triggers (storage, inbound/outbound handling, accessorials, VAS).
- Create and maintain RF and desktop workflows; optimize task interleaving, wave planning, and slotting rules.
Regulatory & Quality
- Ensure workflows support cGMP/GDP, DSCSA traceability, 21 CFR Part 11 (audit trails, e-signatures), recall readiness, and CAPA/change-control.
- Collaborate with Quality on validation deliverables (e.g., URS/FRS, IQ/OQ/PQ, test scripts).
Integrations & Data
- Build and support integrations (e.g., ERP, TMS, carrier systems, automation such as conveyors/print-&-apply/put-to-light, temperature monitoring).
- Develop SQL queries, views, and operational reports/dashboards; ensure data quality and master data governance.
- (New – Microsoft TypeScript) Develop small TypeScript/Node.js utilities or serverless functions (e.g., Azure Functions) to transform payloads, validate ASN content (lots/expiries/serials), or bridge APIs where native configuration is insufficient.
Production Support & Continuous Improvement
- Triage and resolve production issues (prioritization, RCA, rollback plans).
- Drive throughput improvements (picking efficiency, dock-to-stock, order cycle time, accuracy).
- Train super users and operations teams; develop SOPs/work instructions.
