Job Description

The Project Manager will support the Data Governance Program for an overall E2E Data Transformation and will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure of assigned projects. Working as a member of the E2E PMO team, the Project Manager will manage complex projects that improve process efficiencies and effectiveness of client’s Data Management operations. Projects are business facing and may or may not include technology changes. The Project Manager must be a self-starter, an advocate of change, and will act as a main liaison across all functional teams in order to bring a project to a successful completion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize and lead internal and external cross functional team members to deliver on time and within budget
  • Provide critical thinking, challenging leadership and project teams on their assumptions and improvement processes
  • Establish impact and scope criteria of expected changes to define and identify issues, risks and mitigation
  • Manage executive team and project team expectations
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis for proposed changes to aid management in making strategic and tactical decisions
  • Communicate status issues, risks and changes to all stake holders including executive leadership and project teams
  • Present to all levels of the organization
  • Manage, develop, and implement programs composed of multiple cross functional projects. Partners with key business stakeholders to ensure a successful project completion.
  • Lead multiple cross-functional projects that may comprise a program from inception to completion
    • facilitate project planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine the scope and objectives of each project; works with business stakeholders to establish project performance goals
    • designs project plan, develops timeline, identifies project milestones, and tracks performance against performance goals and timeline.
  • Identify, track, and work with others to resolve project issues.
  • Monitor and communicate project status to project team.
  • Plan and monitor project budget, conducts research and analysis; provides input into the design and development of project plans and timelines.
  • Manages project risk; uses quality tools to identify areas of risk; identifies alternatives or solutions; applies motivational techniques to broad-based organization change issues.
  • Leverages experience of cross-functional resources and resources external to the project team; documents and shares team learnings with other teams; draws on other project team experiences to enhance the success of the project.
  • Ensures that project documentation is complete; monitors measures and communicates with Project Sponsor and other stakeholders on status of specific projects and assignments.
  • Identifies and assigns appropriate resources to accomplish various project tasks; guides and coaches team members through various stages of the project; provides developmental feedback to team members; coaches other Project Managers in managing teams..

Professional Experience/Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in data management/data governance, IT project management, and business operations. You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, and strong problem-solving skills.

 

The ideal Candidate should have:

  • Strong business acumen and be able to understand the business needs of the organization and how MDM can support those needs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop and implement creative solutions to complex data challenges.
  • Ability to successfully engage in multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously; to adapt to changing priorities
  • Effectively manage process improvement initiatives to completion within budget and timeline
  • Can introduce and foster a culture of change
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to build understanding and trust as well as develop a solid network and effectively manage stakeholders throughout all levels within the organization.
  • Can identify the needs and expectations of others and provide mutually acceptable solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills. Can effectively manage various projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Process oriented. Can easily recognize areas of improvement and develop strategies for implementation resulting in improved efficiencies.
  • Strong project management skills (effective in Agile and Traditional methodologies), including the ability to develop project plans, manage risks and issues, and track progress against project milestones.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Work with a global organization in North America, Asia and UK/EU locations for conference calls and shared programs
  • Executional experience on Data Governance and MDM program/projects in the past

 

EDUCATION And OTHER SKILLS

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as information systems, or business administration.
  • Several years of experience in data management, data governance, or IT project management.
  • Strong Project Management skills with minimum of 7+ years of experience in dynamic organizations
  • Experience with MDM Informatica MDM highly desired
  • Proficiency with Project Management tools like MS Teams, MS Office, MS Project, MS Visio, Jira, Confluence
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality standards, and data privacy regulations.
  • PMI Certification and Six Sigma Certification desirable
  • Experience with Data Governance and Data Management required
  • Consumer Products Goods and or Retail experience highly desirable
  • Global expansion experience is an asset

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • College, university, or equivalent degree required.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
