    Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer - Home Energy to help shape simple, intuitive experiences around increasingly complex energy solutions.

We are specifically looking for someone who combines strategic product design thinking with strong hands-on execution. A strategist without proven execution experience is not the right fit, and neither is someone who only executes an existing design direction.

The ideal candidate has experience in an innovative environment such as a corporate startup, scale-up or innovation unit within a larger organisation. You bring a startup mindset while also understanding how to work effectively within the structures and complexity of a large organisation.

    The assignment :

The energy transition is changing how households consume, generate and manage energy. Electric vehicles, solar panels, home batteries and heat pumps are increasingly becoming part of one connected energy ecosystem.

Your role will be to turn this complexity into simple, intuitive customer experiences, while also helping shape the product and design strategy behind them.

You will work across the full design process, from discovery and research through to concept development, prototyping, validation and implementation.

    Key responsibilities :

    • Design simple and intuitive experiences for complex Home Energy Management solutions
    • Translate customer needs, technology, data and business requirements into strong product experiences
    • Proactively identify opportunities rather than waiting for a fully defined design brief
    • Initiate and conduct customer research, interviews, usability testing, data analysis and experiments
    • Develop product and design strategies alongside hands-on design execution
    • Create customer journeys, concepts, prototypes and high-fidelity designs
    • Work hands-on in Figma and other modern design tools
    • Challenge existing assumptions and identify opportunities for improvement
    • Build compelling design narratives and present recommendations to senior stakeholders
    • Facilitate workshops and bring different stakeholders together around a shared direction
    • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, Data Specialists and other Designers
    • Help connect individual features into a coherent and integrated customer experience

    Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced Product Designer, UX Designer or similar professional who can demonstrate both strategic and executional capability.

You should be able to demonstrate that you:

    • Have designed complex technical or digital products and translated them into simple user experiences
    • Can independently initiate and execute discovery and user research
    • Have strong UX and interaction design skills combined with strong visual design capability
    • Can connect customer insights, data, technology and business requirements
    • Can move comfortably between detailed UX work and broader product or service strategy
    • Can develop and communicate a clear product or design vision
    • Are confident challenging existing assumptions while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
    • Can structure and present complex ideas clearly and convincingly
    • Have strong experience with Figma, prototyping and modern design tools
    • Have experience with accessible design and WCAG 2.2

    Nice to have :

Experience in one or more of the following would be highly valuable :

    • Energy or utilities
    • Sustainability
    • Electric mobility / EV
    • Connected products
    • Data-driven product development
    • Service Design
    • Complex digital ecosystems
    • Smart home or energy management

    Additional Information

You are curious, independent and comfortable working on problems where the answer is not yet clear.

You don't need a perfectly defined brief before getting started. You investigate, connect people and information, structure complex problems and help determine what should be designed and why.

One day you might be deep in a complex user flow, the next conducting customer interviews, and the day after presenting a new product direction to senior stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who doesn't simply execute what has already been decided, but actively contributes to defining the right problem, shaping the strategy and delivering the solution.

All our positions are open to both women and men and are, of course, open to people with disabilities.
