Job Description
You will join a production security environment operating in Agile mode, where teams are empowered to manage their own technical domain. Within the firewall and proxy filtering squad, you will be responsible for securing network traffic and supporting the bank’s infrastructure through effective firewall management.
The team handles daily firewall requests, implements new rules, resolves incidents, and designs secure solutions based on business needs and security requirements. In parallel, the role includes supporting audits, security controls, regulatory obligations, and data flow recertification through detailed analysis and evidence preparation.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage daily firewall flow requests and validate incoming security requests.
- Implement, maintain, and optimize firewall rules and policies.
- Investigate and resolve firewall-related incidents and security policy issues.
- Contribute firewall expertise to project teams and security initiatives.
- Ensure firewall configurations remain aligned with internal security policies and document them properly.
- Handle requests in compliance with the organization’s security rules and governance standards.
- Perform in-depth analysis and provide evidence for audits, flow recertifications, and reporting activities.
Technical Skills
- Proven experience with firewall, IPS/IDS, and cloud micro-segmentation.
- Firewall rule implementation and policy optimization.
- Incident resolution experience in security operations.
- Experience with Palo Alto or Fortinet technologies.
- Experience with ServiceNow ITSM.
- Strong knowledge of security, networking, and architecture principles.
- Good command of MS Excel, including automated reporting with VBA or Python.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in analysis and audit reporting.
- Certifications such as PCNSA, CompTIA Network+, or CCNA.

- Fast learner with the ability to adopt new technologies and tools quickly.

- Strong team spirit and willingness to share knowledge.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- English: mandatory. French: desired & Dutch: nice to have.
- Strong hands-on experience in firewall environments is mandatory.
