Duration: 4-6 months CTH

• Design and create and alter Databases, Tablespaces, Tables, Indexes, Views to meet the business requirements.
• Setup appropriate security to allow access to the databases and tables.
• Ability to establish both database backup and Disaster Recovery procedures – mirroring and clustering.
• Ability to identify performance issues and recommend solutions – primarily index design, but could include SQL changes.
• Ability to setup and run the utilities to prevent performance or space problems – run the reorg and statistics utilities.
• Assist the System Administrators, Application Developers and End Users with database related problems.
• Assist Operations with after hours on-call support.
• Self starter.
• Works well with others – we need team players.​

The AIX DBA will need experience with: DB2 version 10 and 10.5 and Experience with the DPF product.
